Market Expansion Plan
for Alberta businesses

Evaluate a new market or the U.S. before you commit: requirements, certifications, partners, costs and risks, then a phased entry plan.

I help established Alberta and Canadian businesses decide whether a new region, country or customer segment is worth the effort.

Fixed fee, not a percentage of what you receive. No guarantees. Free 25-minute call, no pitch.

Who this is for

Is the new market worth the effort?

  • You are weighing a new region
  • You are looking at a new customer segment
  • You are considering a move into the United States
  • You want to decide before you commit money or time
  • You want to move without overcommitting

No one can promise how a new market will perform. The plan is built to help you decide whether to proceed, not to guarantee that it works.

What the plan covers

What it would take to get in.

Opportunity

New markets and customer segments

I start with the opportunity itself: is it worth the effort?

Requirements

Entry requirements and certifications

What it takes to enter, mapped before you commit.

Channels

Partnerships and sales channels

The partners and sales channels that could get you to customers.

Risk

Costs, risks and a phased entry plan

The costs and risks involved, then a phased entry plan so you can decide and sequence the work.

// A note on advice: This is not legal, tax or immigration advice. I'll tell you when you need those specialists and what to ask them.

How it works

Evaluate. Map. Phase.

01
Evaluate

I start with the opportunity itself. Is the region, country or customer segment worth the effort?

02
Map

I map entry requirements and certifications, partnerships and sales channels, and the costs and risks involved.

03
Phase

The result is a phased entry plan so you can decide, sequence the work and move without overcommitting.

The terms

Fixed fee. No guarantees.

  • Fixed fee, scoped to the actual problem and agreed before work begins. Never a percentage of anything.
  • No one can promise how a new market will perform, and I don't guarantee it will work.
  • If it is not worth pursuing, I'll tell you.

The plan is there to help you decide, not to sell you on the move.

FAQ

Questions people
actually ask.

Can you help us expand into a new market or the United States?

Yes. I help you evaluate a new region, country or customer segment: the opportunity, entry requirements, certifications, costs and risks. Then we build a phased plan. I don't give legal, tax or immigration advice, but I'll tell you when you need those specialists and what to ask them.

Is the call really free?

Yes. The 25-minute Get a Second Opinion call is free. It is a conversation about your business, not a sales pitch. If there is a fit, the next step is a fixed fee engagement scoped before any work starts. If there is not, you leave with a clearer view.

How do you charge?

A fixed fee agreed up front. I don't take a percentage of what you receive, which means my advice isn't biased toward the biggest grant. It's biased toward what's actually worth pursuing.

Do you guarantee results?

No. Lenders and program administrators make funding decisions, and buyers award contracts. No one can promise how a new market or service will perform either. My job is to tell you whether an opportunity is worth pursuing, get you ready and help you build the strongest possible case.

Where do you work?

I'm based in Calgary and work with businesses across Alberta and the rest of Canada, remotely and on site where appropriate.

Thinking about a new market?

Is it worth the move?

You don't need a finished plan. Tell me which market you are weighing, and I'll tell you what it would take and whether it looks worth pursuing.

Free 25-minute call. No pitch. Just a conversation about your business. Also worth a look: All services  ·  Government funding  ·  Tax credits  ·  Contracts & procurement
